The Power to Get the Job Done Safely The heart of the Duracell Powerpack 300 is a sealed, non-spillable 12 ampere-hour AGM battery. The Powerpack can be safely and conveniently recharged from any household AC outlet or DC cigarette-lighter outlet, making it ready to go whenever you need it. This robust battery is tied to a power inverter that provides 300 watts of power to its two grounded AC outlets and one DC socket. Multiple outlets give you the flexibility and convenience to operate several appliances at once, while the battery level indicator dynamically monitors the Duracell Powerpack's charge level. Internal circuitry ensures long inverter life by protecting against overload and over-temperature conditions. An audible alarm also signals during overheating and under-voltage situations, alerting you to any possible safety concerns. Portable all-in-one AC or DC power with detachable light. View larger. Powerpack 300 Protects You On the Go Powerpack's 12-amp battery can jump start most 4-cylinder engines with its included jumper cables. A reverse polarity detector further ensures your safety by disallowing power transfer in the event that the jumper cables are connected to the incorrect battery terminals. Duracell Powerpack 300 also provides ample power to recharge cordless and cellular telephones. At the same time, small appliances, laptops, televisions and portable stereos will run for hours. Long battery life and an integrated, detachable ultra-bright LED flashlight mean you'll never be left in the dark. Not worth it September 7, 2010 Attitude I purchased the Duracell 300 Powerpack to mainly use in my fifth wheel trailer for camping and emergency purposes.
Air compressor doesn't have enough umph! to inflate a low trailer tire from 65 to 80PSI. Inverter works great to plug in the laptop or a floor fan while camping. Tried to jump start the riding lawn mower, took too long to get a charge from it. It was faster to park the truck next to it and pull out the ol' fashion jumper cables. I give it 5 stars for the small LED flashlight, 4 stars for the inverter, and 1 star for the jumpers, and 1 star for the air compressor. Don't waste your money! Buy a separate inverter, an actual air compressor and jumper cables and go to the dollar store and purchase the flashlight-you'll have a better "powerpack" in the long run.
Don't buy it August 31, 2010 jmosely It worked twice then wouldn't take a charge. This was after 7 months. Of course the warranty is 6 months. Company does not sell a replacement battery for it either. Save your $ and get another brand.
A Handy Item August 9, 2010 Robert Clark Kirchner Jumstarted my V-6 and V-8 engine batteries with no problems. Inflates tires and has built in PSI gauge, power inverter, and has a built in flashlight. A great item to have for any automobile owner. After one use it pays for itself. Easy to use and not too bulky.
Handy power pack! August 5, 2010 C. Miller (USA) Have used this twice to jump off a dead battery. HVAC installer accidentally let his van's battery run dead. I told him to try out the power pack because it's got jumper cables (I had just purchased it). It worked like a charm. Second jump was on a 2008 Honda Civic. Both times it worked fine. Bought it mainly so that I could have a little light if the power goes out in the occasional winter snow/ics storm that hit the south and cause widespread outages. The air compressor also works pretty good...better than going to the service station and paying a machine for air. Handy flash light attached as well. Overall...useful unit.
Jumpstarted my 2007 Acura MDX 3.7-L V-6 and operate my garage door without power! June 17, 2010 Timothy Lam (Temple City, CA United States) I bought it since Dec 2009 and had only used the built-in pump to inflat my car and bicycle tires so far, but just the other day, I can't start my car - interior light flicker and nothing but the clicking noise indicating the car battery is low on power.... then I realize I have this Duracell Powerpack 300 in the trunk. What better time to test it? Even though my car battery is not completely dead (although interior lights are noticeably dimmer than normal), but since my car (Acura MDX) has a fairly big 3.7L V-6 engine, I wasn't 100% sure this Powerpack 300 is strong enough to jumpstart. I hooked up the Powerpack's red and black jumper cables directly to my car battery. An indicator light on the Powerpack confirms my jumper connections are correct. I turned on the jumper switch on the side of the Powerpack. My car started right up with the first turn of my key! No hesitation at all, I am impressed! I checked the power reserve level and it still indicate full or close to full charge (4 bars). I have AAA membership, but the convenience of jumping my own car without spending 30min - 1hr waiting for AAA is priceless or in this case well worth the $80 I spent since I know my Powerpack will be ready when I need a jumpstart.
Update 7/14/2010:
I had a power outage this morning and can't open my garage door. There is an emergency pull rope to release the garage door from the opener so the garage door can be operated manually, but I don't want to use it since it will leave my garage door unlocked while I am at work. Then I thought when not try my Duracell Powerpack? I wasn't 100% sure if the garage door opener is within the specs (240W continuous power and 480W surge), but I figure what I have got to lose? Glad I tried it because it worked! I was able to open and close my garage door with only the power from the Duracell Powerpack 300! Amazing!
Updated 9/4/2010:
I was able to help my neighbor jumpstart his 2008 Honda Odyssey with the V-6 engine. Already done it once with my MDX V-6, so it took less than 1 minute, from hooking up the jumper connectors to starting the car, not even have to look at the manual.
